What we publish
Short, practical notes on tempo, footwork, shot choice and practice habits. A play style quiz that describes tendencies rather than verdicts. And a Play Guide that turns those ideas into sessions you can run on your own, with or without a partner.
Who we write for
Adults who play at a local club, on a public court or in a weekend league. Most of our readers have a working week, a limited amount of time on court, and a real wish to play better without making tennis their whole personality.
How we work
-
Explain the why first
A drill without a reason becomes a chore. We try to say what a habit is for before we describe how to do it.
-
Describe, do not diagnose
We describe what a rally looks like and what tends to happen in it. We do not promise a fix for your particular swing.
-
Be specific, not impressive
Plain words beat jargon. When a term is useful, we define it once and then use it the same way every time.
-
Say when we are unsure
Tennis has many good methods, and coaches disagree about details. Where the picture is unclear, we say so.
About the name
A bellwether is a sheep that wears a bell and leads the flock. We like the idea of a steady lead that others can follow, rather than a loud one.
The BTC initials come from the name and the domain. They have nothing to do with cryptocurrency. Nothing on this site is financial, legal, investment or medical advice. It is about tennis, written for people who play it.
Our voice
Calm, specific and a little dry. We would rather be accurate than impressive, and we will tell you when a shot is hard to hit rather than pretending it is easy.
